Exciting opportunity for a Digital Systems Manager to join the Department of Health's Public Health Services (PHS) team. The overall mission of PHS is to protect and promote health and wellbeing, and to prevent disease and harm for all Tasmanians.  This role is part of the Strategic and Business Support (Strategy and Governance) team, which provides strategic advice and business support across PHS in the areas of policy, strategic planning, communications, digital systems, corporate reporting, risk, and governance.

The role:

Work with and provide advice to the Chief Executive - Public Health Services (PHS) and partner with the Office of the Chief Information Officer to ensure PHS proactively develops and maintains short, medium, and long-term IT strategies and workplans that are consistent with whole of Department strategies and workplans.

PHS operates a contemporary, high-quality, and integrated service that is supported by robust information systems and high-quality data management.  

Duties: 

  • Manage a portfolio of Information Systems projects within PHS ensuring that business processes are appropriately analysed and incorporated into the development and implementation of ICT systems.
  • Drive the delivery and administration of cost-effective and sustainable essential software solutions to support the key activities of PHS, in alignment with departmental technology architecture.
  • Provide leadership, high level consultation and advice in the development of PHS business plans for the acquisition, implementation, maintenance and administration of Information Systems and Information Technology.
  • Provide high level application support for PHS information systems to clinical and administrative staff as required.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $124,371 - $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
