Tasmania offers a unique culture and lifestyle, with a strong sense of community and belonging. Say goodbye to lengthy commutes, and enjoy breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals, all within a stone’s throw of your workplace.

As the largest hospital and major triage centre for the state, the RHH sees a wide range of clinical populations, which enables you to rapidly broaden your clinical knowledge and experience. This is a rare opportunity that would be of interest to experienced psychologists through to early career clinicians. The slower paced lifestyle allows you to practice mindfully, to find meaning in your work, and to develop a strong understanding of your patients.

As part of our friendly Psychology Services team, you will receive clinical supervision and opportunities for skill development, collaboration, and professional growth. you will be part of a Psychology Department working with a team of Neuropsychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Health Psychologists and Registrars. You will work alongside other Allied Health professionals and medical teams. We offer Professional Development support, Peer Review and clinical supervision to staff including Post-graduate Students and Registrars as well as support, mentoring and development from a psychology leadership team.

The role:

As the Psychologist, you will provide evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)  Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) unit.

In response to the growing need for specialised care for older adults in Southern Tasmania, the Tasmanian Health Service will be providing an increased service at the Repatriation Hospital as part of a Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Model of Care that is on par with national models of care. We are excited to welcome a Psychologist to join the team of skilled professionals providing services to older people in or community.
