Job description:

The North West Regional Hospital are seeking a motivated Emergency Department Support Officer to join their team.

The North West Regional Hospital emergency department is seeking motivated, passionate people with a high level of communication skills to take on a new role within our department – an emergency department support officer. Successful applicants who are able to demonstrate motivation to adapt and learn will be provided with education, training and ongoing support.

The role:

The North West Regional Hospital are seeking a motivated Emergency Department Support Officer to join their team. The Emergency Department Support Officer will:

  • Assist the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) - Emergency Department (ED) in ensuring a safe and secure environment within the ED.
  • Act as a member of the Code Black Team across the entire Hospital afterhours and conduct internal hospital security functions as directed.
  • Provides support services to the ED that includes assisting with transporting patients to and from diagnostic services.
  • Provide manual handling assistance with patient care requirements when and as directed.
  • Assist the NUM in the maintenance and management of ED equipment.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, shift-worker position working 68 hours per fortnight, commencing from September 2024

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: $65,236 - $68,925 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
