Job description:

Seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety to contribute to the successful positioning of the Quality and Patient Safety service through the provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare.

The Role:

  • Will support the Department of Surgical and Perioperative Services leadership team to develop and implement departmental quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experience.
  • Drive department level initiatives to address specific areas of concern relating to quality, clinical treatment, patient/client safety, risk management, and progress accreditation requirements.
  • Access, monitor and evaluate department level clinical data and indicators as required and provide relevant advice and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Drive the use of co-design and consumer engagement within the department and champion the use of Patient Experience Data to focus improvement opportunities.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
