An exciting opportunity is now available to become a member of our newly formed team at Ambulance Tasmania. The Statewide Operational Planning unit has recently been set up to provide roster, establishment and recruitment support for whole of Ambulance Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity is now available to become a member of our newly formed team at Ambulance Tasmania. The Statewide Operational Planning unit has recently been set up to provide roster, establishment and recruitment support for whole of Ambulance Tasmania.

The ideal applicant will have rostering experience, be proficient with Excel, with a keen attention to detail. They will be experienced in providing accurate and timely advice to all stakeholders. Additionally, they will be adept with identifying issues, investigating and researching solutions, and providing recommendations for resolution.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality rostering services and business support including liaising and negotiating with frontline staff, managers and relevant industrial representatives.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Managers and other senior staff to ensure the provision of high quality, effective services relating to rosters and reporting.
  • This role is integral to improving efficiency in current rostering practices.
  • Prepare, maintain and manage the rosters for the allocated region, including entering data in relation to shift changes, annual leave, staff absences and time credit records.
  • Analyse and maintain roster projections to ensure rosters are in line with Ambulance Tasmania Award rostering provisions.
  • Prepare shift, leave and training schedules to ensure appropriate coverage is maintained.

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: General Stream, Band 5

  • $95,393 - $100,067 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

  • High-level experience in preparing, maintaining and managing rosters

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  • crimes of violence
  • sex related offences
  • serious drug offences
  • crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
