
The Team:
The Statewide Burns Service team is a dynamic and supportive team, working closely with medical and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver advanced nursing care to patients with burn injuries in Tasmania.
The Role:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager – Orthopaedics and Surgical Specialities and in collaboration with the Burns Nurse Practitioner and the Director of Burns, the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Burns leads statewide care coordination and multidisciplinary liaison, for adult and paediatric burns patients across the burns continuum. The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Burns provides a specialist consultancy service throughout the Royal Hobart Hospital and Statewide, liaising with key stakeholders and contributing to advanced education, support, research and quality improvement. The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Burns Services ensures the provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare.
You will need:
- Provide care coordination and multidisciplinary liaison for the burns patient across the burns continuum including post discharge for adult and paediatric patients
- Coordinate and facilitate complex discharge planning through collaboration with primary health care providers and community health services.
- Collaborates and works closely with other relevant departments statewide including retrieval, ambulance, emergency departments, critical care, theatre, and paediatrics.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, day worker, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with Burns experience

Holds relevant post graduate qualifications aligned with Burns nursing

Certificate in the Emergency Management of Severe Burns Course through ANZBA
