Job description: We are seeking new Graduate Dentists to join our vibrant team and help enhance the health of our community.

Graduate Dental Officer – Fixed-term, Full-time
Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is keen to welcome you to our team. We are a close-knit group of oral health professionals, a mixture of locals and new Tasmanian adventurers. We work across major centres and community dental clinics, providing contemporary, evidence-informed practice.
We are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you achieve your goals. As a new graduate, you will have the time to hone your clinical skills, reflect, learn, and grow with support from our experienced team of clinicians, dental assistants, customer service officers and managers. Our structured program includes mentorship, hands-on workshops, virtual learning sessions and case discussions.

The Role:
Graduate Dental Officer Positions are designed for individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Dental Medicine or equivalent within the past year.
The role focuses on improving the health of Tasmanians by:
- Providing a high standard of oral health care to eligible adult and child patients
- Working as part of an integrated clinical team, alongside Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists and Dental Prosthetists
- Supporting individuals and communities to increase control over their oral health.

Details of Appointment:
- Contract: Fixed-term, full-time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight from 04/02/2026 to 31/12/26.
- Salary: $129,130 to $202,386 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Professional Development Allowance: $7,780 per annum (pro rata) to be paid in fortnightly instalments in accordance with an employee’s anniversary date
- Graduate Program:
- Clinical mentorship from experienced Dentists, Dental Therapists and Oral Health Therapists
- Modified appointment lengths to support transition to practice
- Ability for Graduates to define their goals and work with Clinical Educators to develop their skills
- Structured education program with over 30 hours of free CPD including hands-on workshops across the year and in different locations across the State
