Job description:

Develop and maintain the living collections, plant displays and estate of the RTBG, guided by the annual Business Operational Plan.

Maintain the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens’ (RTBG) position as the State's premier centre for amenity horticulture and ex-situ plant conservation through the development and maintenance of the living collections, plant displays and estate of the RTBG, guided by the annual Business Operational Plan.

Hours per fortnight

76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).

Essential requirements

  • A Certificate III (Horticulture Cert 3 (AHC30716) in Horticulture or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.

Desirable requirements

  • Current drivers licence.
  • Workplace Level 2 First Aid certificate.
  • Accredited competency in the use of chainsaws.
  • Experience in a similar role in a botanical garden, or large public garden.
